Your amount of active insulin is presented to you on your dashboard in Hedia. This is an indicator of how much rapid-acting insulin that is currently working in your body. The amount of active insulin is based on your previous rapid-acting insulin logs 4 hours back.
Whenever you use Hedia for a new recommendation of insulin, the app will take your active insulin into account, helping you stay on top of the numbers. Meaning that Hedia will calculate your recommended insulin dosage by subtracting the amount of active insulin from the amount of insulin that would otherwise be required for your bolus.
Keeping track of your active insulin helps you avoid insulin stacking and unpleasant surprises like low blood glucose levels.
Hedia uses the Novorapid curve for these calculations. You can read more about this in our user manual, if you click on this link: Hedia - User Manual
