You can use Hedia at any time to get recommendations for your insulin dose, both for a correction of your blood glucose and as a bolus dosage at mealtimes.
To get a recommendation for correction dose do the following:
- Open a new calculation by clicking on ‘+’
- Enter your blood glucose
- Enter activity (if any)
- Click on ‘Calculate Insulin’
- Tell Hedia if you’ve taken any insulin in the last 4 hours(Yes/No)
- Get your recommendation of insulin
- Tell Hedia how you’re feeling (optional)
- Click on ‘Transfer to logbook’ and save your calculation.
At meal times do the following:
- Open a new calculation by clicking on ‘+’
- Enter your blood glucose (or add device)
- Add carbs manually, use Quick Add, or find food items in Hedia’s food database
- Enter activity (if you’re planning a workout, or if you just finished one)
- Click on ‘Calculate Insulin’
- Tell Hedia if you have taken any insulin in the last 4 hours (Yes/No)
- Get your recommended amount of insulin
- Tell Hedia how you’re feeling (optional)
- Click on ‘Transfer to logbook’ and save your calculation.
